Hidden events
Hidden events let you manually exclude a single calendar event from every view, without deleting it from Apple Calendar. Hidden events are a Sift Plus feature.
How to hide an event
- Open the event in Sift (from any view’s detail list).
- Open the context menu (⋯ or long-press).
- Tap Hide Event.
The event disappears from all views and won’t trigger alerts. It remains in Apple Calendar unchanged.
How to unhide
Settings → Preferences → Hidden Events lists every event you’ve hidden.
- Tap an event to unhide it individually.
- Tap Clear All to unhide everything at once.
Unhidden events reappear in any view whose rules match them.
Where hidden events live
Hidden event IDs are stored in Sift’s local app settings on your device. They are not synced through iCloud Sync or included in JSON export.
If Plus ends
When your Sift Plus subscription lapses, hidden events become visible again in all views. They were never deleted, Sift simply stops applying the hide rule until you resubscribe.
Sift shows a one-time in-app notice the first time you open the app after Plus ends, explaining that hidden events will reappear.
