View sharing
You can share a view so someone else can apply the same rules to their calendars.
Sharing a view
- Open a view’s detail screen or use the share action from the Views screen.
- Choose link or QR code.
- Send through the iOS share sheet (Messages, AirDrop, etc.).
Sharing is device-to-device. so & so is not a middleman and does not host shared views.
What’s included and excluded
Included in the shared payload:
- View name, colour, and icon
- Keywords and keyword match mode
- Date range and advanced rules (time of day, all-day, recurrence, location)
Excluded: deliberately not shared:
- Calendar identifiers: the recipient cannot see which calendars you use
- Event data, attendee lists, or anything from your calendar
When someone imports your view, they pick their own calendars on their device. The same keywords and rules apply to their events, not yours.
Importing a shared view
When someone opens your link in Sift:
- Sift shows the imported view’s name and rules.
- They choose which of their calendars to connect.
- The view saves to their Views screen and starts matching immediately.
Receiving a shared view does not grant access to the sender’s calendars or events.
